Science

As part of this focus, scientists were invited to bring their expertise to the anniversary year of 2020.

With the “Call for Project Proposals for Science Event”, proposals were sought for event concepts that offer various approaches to the relevant central themes of CARINTHIja 2020 and that can be integrated in the overall programme for the anniversary year. The “CARINTHIja 2020 research grant” is an additional aspect of the call for project proposals that aims to address the younger scientific generation in Carinthia. The intention is to support scientific research work towards bachelor, diploma, master and doctoral theses.

Both pillars of research − scientific events and research grants – are aimed at contributing to a critical analysis of development processes which have shaped history, determined the present and continue to influence the future.


From a total of 17 submitted projects for scientific events, nine were chosen for implementation by an expert jury.


Out of the nine projects submitted for research grants, five have been considered for funding. These include the following scientific works:
